Quite a few of us will be heading out on Thursday for this annual Rally, If you haven't been well its time to check it out. I think this will be our last major trip of the year as winter is upon us and the Holidays are closing in fast. Our Ride Coordinator has given up his position to do other things so we will be looking for a new Ride Coordinator, anyone wishing to fill that position please give me a yell.

I will be teaching a web design course at the rally so anyone interested in learning a little HTML come on down and sit a spell.

All the pictures that I took have been posted, I have a few more that were sent to me from some of the other chapters and I will post them when I get back from the rally, I expect a few more. I did take a few at the last ride up in Bealeton VA of the flying circus so expect them soon.

Our meeting is at D&S Pizzeria this month so anyone coming down for a visit make sure you get the address out of our newsletter.

10 September 2008

Howdy all,

Got news, oh just a bit I guess. Rally In the Valley is approaching fast so if you haven't gotten your reservations made, your registration in lets get it taken care of, we want to see everyone again as its been quite a long time. Yes we are hoping for great weather like last year. Chapter B has the door prize table again, we don't have a schedule out but as soon as I get something I will get it to everyone in the chapter.

The new newsletter is out and has been posted on the web site for those of you that want to take a gander. This weekend is chapter C's event "Fall Sprawl" if you haven't been this is a fantastic event, just a nice relaxing day with some good eats, potatoes the size of footballs and Steaks that are not only good but weigh in at 27 lbs each, well that’s an exaggeration but they are pretty big.

I'm hoping to finally get around to posting the pictures from the last couple events, seems to be something that I dread, don't know why, its not hard to do but for some reason every time I have pictures to post I find an excuse not to post them, I have placed dates next to the photos, a suggestion from a fellow web master, as always we aim to please all suggestions are taken seriously, I thought it was a good suggestion, it dates our photo's.

See ya soon, and as always Ride Safe!

14 August 2008

Yep its been a couple weeks since I have updated this site. First of all the newsletter is posted for August so if you haven't received it then check it out.

I will be uploading some pictures within the next day or so of some of the chapters last events so come back soon. The summer is starting to finally cool down, we are in the 80's the majority of the time now, you only have about 1 more month of good swimming left here in Virginia so get out and do it to it.

The meeting the other day was another packed house, Our Asst District Directors (East) came down to present soom Grand Master patches to a couple of our folks who have been riding for years and definately earned them. We had a few more people join our chapter, we are getting bigger as the days go by. Keep them coming we want as many Goldwing riders as we can get.

Rally In The Valley is coming fast, 9-11 October so if you haven't made reservations and registered you may want to do that, before you know it September will fly by. Can't wait, got about 30 more days and my trailer will be ready and I can start traveling in style with the wife.

Couple chapter events coming up, we have chapter O's event this month and we have chapter C's event in September, both of these are pretty popular so be ready to enjoy both of them.

As always, Ride Safe!

14 July 2008

Howdy all, after a week of rest and relaxation after Wing Ding I can now take a few moments to update the webstite. The newsletter will be posted either tonight or tomorrow, it was late this month due to Wing Ding we had so many people from the chapter go down we couldn't get all the articles together before our monthly monthly meeting. It happens sometimes, not often but at least we got one out right….

We spent a pretty nice week down in Greenville, ths years Wing Ding was fun, lots of vendors, the city did a great job for GWRRA, Live bands everyday, Party on Main St. Light Parade, Grand Parade, Bike Show, Seminars. Wow.

We had 4 winners while down there, well everyone is winners, but 4 actually won something, we had Dave Ebmeier win 1st place in Stock 1500, Bob Lutton win 3rd prize in Airbrush with trailer, Mary Baraclough win 2nd prize in Custom Trike, and our big winner was Dave Seate who won the grand prize "Trike conversion kit". No rain going down and no rain coming back, can't ask for better than that.

Chapter "W" had there charity ride this last weekend and a couple of us were able to make it up there including a new member to the chapter Jim on his Blue 2001 Wing, and of course he was the big winner at the prize table.

We have a couple good rides coming up check them out, Chapter "U's" primary event, the All chapters picnic in August, the Joust that Harry our Ride Coordinator has planned. Rally in the Valley is coming fast and we are hoping to have a block of rooms like in the past more info will forthcoming, this will be 9-11 October 2008.

I have posted on the rider education page the motorist awareness stuff for your reading pleasure, some of the other pages will be going through some updating so keep checking back.

30 June 2008

2 more days and we will be off to Wing Ding in Greenville, SC. Looks like we will have over half the chapter heading down there for the full week or at least a day pass which is great not only for us but for GWRRA.

Don't forget on Friday we will be needing some help with registration so think about volunteering for a couple hours and help out GWRRA and Region "N". Bob Lutton got his bike out of the shop and it is ready to be ridden down and put in the Bike Show, how do I know its ready, well it was parked next to my Candy Black Cherry and some of the coolness radiated over to his bike.

You know those yellow 1800's got to get every advantage they can get. Region "N" has posted some of the rally pictures, actually a lot not just some, its put up in a slide show format so all you have to do is click it and sit back. John has given me some files for Motorist Awareness and those are posted up on the education page so if your interested in giving some motorist awareness seminars or just want to get some new info check them out.

There are quite a few events going on this summer so try to ride and check more of them out. West Virginia Rally just ended this weekend, Wing Ding is close by, Virginia Rally is approaching fast, we have a lot of rides coming up this summer, also don't forget to ride for a nice cool ice cream on our monthly ice cream ride, a different place each month, they will be the 3rd Wednesday of each month.

6 June 2008

Yep it has been awhile since I have updated this site, actually I have updated it a few time, mostly code to make it work a little faster and bring down the load times on some of the pages, but that is no excuse, I will try to get better and update this site at least once a week.

The chapter is riding, as it is the riding season, so expect to see us out and about, May was a month of full rides, we had groups going to events, we had groups riding to the Region Rally in TN, we had groups Marshaling for the MS-150 on the eastern shore and we had groups riding to some of the Virginia festivals.

Unfortunately being the forgetful person that I am I didn't bring a camera.

I have taken on the job as Web Master for Region N, the website looks great as it is, the previous folks that updated it did a great job, now its my job to keep it updated and move the site into the 21st century

What other news has been going on in the Chapter, Well Kristen has taken over as the District Newsletter Judge to assist the District MEDs; Bob Lutton's Daughter had her babby; My article on the ADA ride we did in April was published in Wing World (read it, you will like it); Carla Dobbins got to get a ride from Dave Huey in his side car and ride Bristal Race Track, from what I understand she really enjoyed it; and of course our very own Dave Ebmeier won best of show for his bike in the Region N bike show.

The newsletter should be out in a day or so, check back and read a great manual on chapter fun.

other than tha, have fun, ride hard and as I always say.....

Ride Safe!!!!

14 May 2008

Time for an update, I have noticed a steady visitation of people to the site so I want to make sure those that do stop by can at least find a update now and again. Our first event of the month was a wash out, we were supposed to ride to Fredericksburg for there primary event but the weather was bad, raining and windywe were looking forward to the event as we went last year and really had a good time.

The next day was our B.L.O.C party that we setup. A couple years ago we had chapters B L O and C get together for a pot luck and it seemed to be a hit, we attempted it again this year and it didn't fair as well, a lot had to do with the Day, of course it turned out to be on Mothers Day and of course the weather looked like it wasn't going to cooperate, turned out to be a fairly nice day. So we didn't have the turnout that I was hoping for but those that came out had some good food, BBQ chicken and played some serious (not really) horse shoes.

Check out the calendar for some more upcoming events. Bob Lutton finally got his Bushtech trailer back from the painter, Bob was getting the Pittsburg Steelers Stadium painted on it, looks fantastic, pictures will show up now and again so keep a lookout.

Tomorrow is supposed to be a nice day for out monthly social so I know Bob will be bringing it out to show off, Keith will be bringing his new Spider also for everyone to check out, well not be out done, Kristen and I will be bringing our new Nolan Helmets, I don't think anyone will be interested in Bobs trailer or Keith's new bike…..that's right I'm not playing fair.

Congratulations goes out to Dave and Norma Miller from chapter "U", they are the new MAD coordinators for the District and are part of that staff, if you see them in passing give them and congrats.

The new Newsletter is posted for your reading pleasure, so if you haven't read it, take a gander.

New pictures are finally up.

As always drive safe!

1 May 2008

Wow, what a month, not only did it fly by it was a busy, busy riding month for the chapter. We were able to make 4 District Chapter events, 4 Chapter socials, One non-GWRRA meeting, and of course do lots of riding.

The big event this month was the Marshaling of the Hampton Roads, Tour De Cure 2008 on the 19th of April, what a fantastic day it was, turned out not only to be a successful day for all the cyclist, but it was a very, very nice day with temps in the high 70's and low 80's, not much wind and a huge turnout of Goldwings from Chapter "B" of course, and Chapter "L", Chapter "NC-E2" and some of the Honda Riders from HROT.

What a way to give back to the community, Pictures have been posted, not as many as I had hoped but that is due to Kristen not being able to drive along side the cyclist due to the narrow roads, but she did her best and we did get some great photos, Kathy and Bob got some good ones also. I have some photo's of our ride to South Boston for there event, and I still have to post the photo's from chapter "L's" event, give me a day or so and I should have them up for everyone to check out.

Summer is upon us and all the District rallies, the Region Rally and of course Wing Ding will be here in not time, be ready to have some fun.

Ride Safe
